During the COVID-19 outbreak, it is important to maintain your health and chronic conditions. For the most part, this can now be done via televisits and other remote ways. Don’t delay your care or concerns. It is critical to avoid Urgent Care visits, ER visits and hospitalizations. Please see the following updates for our clinic.
- FOR PATIENTS WHO DON’T NEED TO BE SEEN IN PERSON, Valley Allergy Clinic can now conduct a Telehealth visit from the safety and comfort of your home or from your car in our parking lot. If you do not have the means to conduct a Televisit at home, you can now stay in your car and we will hand you a sterilized iPad. This iPad will already be connected with Skype to one of our doctors inside. Saginaw office only.
Our staff can help you with the set-up for Televisits and it is an easy process.
Doctor McAvoy is willing to schedule some after hour Televisits.
The State of Michigan requires insurance companies to cover live video telemedicine the same way as in person services. Medicare is also currently covering the entire cost of Televisits.
- As of now our offices, except Mondays and Wednesdays in Bay City, are still open for injections; but only for certain patients. Please call our office before you come in for a shot. We will assess your situation and schedule a shot appointment if necessary. For the patients whose immunotherapy is not critical at this time, it may be ok to delay your injections for a couple of months. We can make adjustments at a later date!
- Weather permitting we are now offering OUTDOOR ALLERGY AND BIOLOGIC SHOTS for those who have never had a significant problem or anaphylaxis from a shot. As of now, this is at the Saginaw Office only on Mondays 3-6pm, Tuesdays 2-5, Wednesdays 2-5pm, Thursdays 2-5pm and Fridays 10-12:30pm. All patients must sign a new consent form for this service.
The shot patient must bring a competent adult with them since after their shot, they will be able to return to their car to wait the appropriate time. For your safety, we want someone besides the patient in the car to notify us in case the patient starts to have a shot reaction.
Appointments are now being made for all injections to limit exposures. Do not come in if you are showing any signs of infection or have been exposed to anyone with a concerning infection! Call first if this is a concern!!
Please feel free to contact us to address your questions and concerns. 989-799-9490.
We hope you stay healthy and safe!
